Women on Boda Boda

For Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Tanzania, 2025

I was commissioned to photograph women who make a living riding boda boda (motorcycle taxis) in Tanzania.

Women riders are rarely seen, and when they are, they’re treated as a novelty. The portraits put these women where they’ve always been, at the centre of their own story and visible in a city that often overlooks them.
